2 yr old loved it

| My 2 yr old granddaughter had seen it in the store and it had become unavailable. It arrived just days after being ordered and she loved being able to feed it. She learned that most of the bottles from her other dolls would work with it too, another plus! |
Awesome!

Not The Feather-Type To Become A Pillow

Awww...this FurReal Friends Baby Bird Blue+Violet was a "just-because" gift for my roommate.
SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!!! In fact, she won't stop playing with it since she told me that she doesn't want to upset the poor little baby bird and make it cry...that
would be a complete disaster, even for a toy bird!!!
My roommate named the baby bird,"Melody" so I guess she made it into a female birdie. My roommate even has a cute imagination when she talks to her new feathered friend...she mentions that perhaps Melody will fly away and find herself a mate so she can lay eggs as to Melody will someday have beautiful baby birds that will look like their mommy. Quite an imagination,if you ask me!!
As for my roommate, she told me that she plans to buy
the orange+green one for me with her next paycheck since
she's a little broke as of now. These FurReal Friends Baby Birds are more cuter than I had suspected, though. They chirp,chirp,chirp...they also somewhat move their wings yet I'm not so sure you'd call it "flapping" their wings since "flapping" the wings technically refers to "flying"...a grave miscalculation on item desription,if you ask me.
Also,in order to put bird on "Play","Stop",or "Demo"
modes, you have to fold the birds claws/feet and then you un-velcro the butt(Yes,the butt...sorry to sound so gross, though.)and look inside to find the switch, but don't rip it open as to I seriously wouldn't reccommend it to tear open this section or the bird will get destroyed as to who would want to kill a baby bird?
I mean, nobody's that heartless!! The "chirping" sound is exactly like a baby bird that you may find in an abandoned nest, but this baby bird is yours to keep for your very own as to this baby bird needs a loving home where he/she can be loved and well taken care of as your friend. Give a feathered friend a home and he/she will love you eternally!!
I gave this item a 3-star on durability as I'm not too sure on the durability since my roommate nor I have actually dropped or "chucked" this poor little baby bird.(Not that you'd want to as to this shows animal abuse, regardles of if it's real or a toy!!)
I also gave this item a 3-star since there is almost no educational value other than to learn the responsibilities of caring for an animal, but in this case that we're talking about a baby bird...no,this isn't
supposed to become a flame-broiled chicken!! I do give this item a 5-star for fun since my roommate and myself are having a blast just playing with it while feeding it to make it a happy baby bird...I'm not too sure if I'd find it fun,but it's my roommate's enjoyment that matters since this item was to be for her. This item gets a 5-star for overall enjoyment as to,once again,my roommate is having loads of fun with it right now...she's already introduced her new little friend to a few neighbors and neighbors' kids. It's a neat little toy,all 'n all.
Let's just hope that this special little feathered friend doesn't shed any feathers or somebody might use such ideas of making pillows,a ladies' hat,or even a fresh roasted bird for a Sunday dinner after church.
Poor little birdie...sniff...at least my roommate is giving Melody lots of love, though.

It does what it's supposed to do.

It's the simplest and lowest end of robotics. A button pressed causes a reaction. In this case, the button is the tongue and the reaction is one of several recorded chirps accompanied by simple movements of wings and body. That's it. The bottle is just an accessory, fun but not having any unique effect. The feet can be folded to make the bird perch, which is cute, if you have a suitable place to perch it.
But outside of pressing its button, you will get no interaction from it, it's just not intended to be that fancy. It makes cute lil sounds and has a cute lil beak, and my 6-year-old son thinks it's adorable, but then he knew it wasn't going to be coming up with any other features. If you want one of those fancy models you saw at the Science Center that learns from you and becomes your new little brother, you're going to have to pay a lot more than the original $13 price of one of these pets. |
